SJSU Human Trafficking Awareness Week 20011: April 25-28!
We are so excited to be hosting our Human Trafficking Awareness Week once more!
Here are the events happening this week!
Monday
-Silence for slavery: Students will be placing freedom tape over their mouths to represent the millions in bondage without a voice
- Open Mic at Philz Coffee downtown SJ. Accepting Donations all week for HTAW
Tuesday
-Silence for slavery
-Slavery Tunnel: A tunnel display of images, stories and art of victims of human trafficking on Paseo de San Carlos from 10 am until 4 pm
Wednesday
-Variety Show Fundraiser at 5 pm at the Spartan Memorial Chapel: $5 admission
-Talk from YWAM missionary who will be doing abolition work in the bay area. Sponsored by Intervarsity - In the Ohlone Room in the student union at 8 p.m.
(can talk about the faith perspective of human trafficking)
Thursday
-Movie Showing of At The End of Slavery featuring guest speaker Brian Cress from International Justice Mission at Morris Dailey Auditorium at 7:30 pm
-Screening will also showcase organizations who combat slavery today.
